Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sri Lanka rises to 150

The Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated that two more patients have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 150.

He stated that four new cases were reported today (02) and that as of 5.15 p.m. the total number of confirmed cases stands at 150.

Two of these new patients are individuals who had closely associated with the COVID-19 patient who died yesterday (01), he added.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi told reporters that the son-in-law and grandson of the COVID-19 patient who died yesterday had tested positive for the virus.

According to data from the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health, 126 patients are currently under medical care while 21 patients have recovered.

There have been 03 fatalities in the country due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile over 250 suspected patients are under observation at selected hospitals across the island.
